  1. An average human heart beats around 35 million times a year.
  2. On average, the heart beats around 100,000 beats per day.
  3. In a lifetime of 70 years, the average human heart beats more than 2.5 billion times.
  4. An adult heart pumps an average of 2,000 gallons a day which is almost 5 quarts of blood each minute.
  5. Myocardiums are the electrical impulses in heart’s muscles responsible for making the heart beat.
  6. The medical term for heart failure or cardiac arrest is myocardial infarction.
  7. Heart failure usually effects the left side of the heart first.
  8. People who suffer from gum diseases are twice as likely to have heart attacks.
  9. The normal size of and adult heart is a little larger than a clenched fist.
